At PrescriTag, our mission is to make prescription management accessible, understandable, and safe for everyone—regardless of language, age, or digital literacy.
Why We Exist
Too often, patients are left confused by printed medication labels that are unclear, untranslated, or easy to misplace. We saw this first-hand in community pharmacies and care settings, where patients would forget doses, misunderstand instructions, or feel overwhelmed by paper-heavy systems.
What We Built
PrescriTag was designed to solve that problem. Using low-cost NFC tags and a standard Android device, we've built a tool that:
- Writes and stores instructions directly to the tag
- Supports multi-language instructions and translations
- Works without internet access
- Sends reminders to help with dose adherence
It's digital-first, but human-focused.
Who We Are
We're a small, Northern Ireland-based team of healthcare technologists, carers, and designers passionate about reducing preventable medication errors. We've created a solution that works in the real world—even with no internet, limited budget, or non-tech-savvy users.
Where We Are Now
PrescriTag is currently live on a single Android device for early-stage testing. We're gathering feedback from pharmacists, carers, and community clinics to refine the system. If you're interested in trying it or supporting its growth, we'd love to hear from you.
